Izložba Maje Zorić ”Pieces of Life“u Galeriji savremene umetnosti u Šenženu

”PIECES OF LIFE – ODE TO MY FATHER“

Srpska umetnica mlađe generacije Maja Zorić predstavila se samostalnom izložbom slika ”Pieces of Life – ode to my father“ u Galeriji savremene umetnosti u Šenženu, Kina (BananaJam Art galery). Postavka se može pogledati sve do 21. maja, a obuhvata radove na platnu većeg formata iz aktuelne produkcije. 




– Iskustva odsutnosti i zatvorenih prostora u kojima boravimo, Maja Zorić čini likovno opiplјivim i stvarnim koristeći se jednom od večnih tema umetnosti – pejzažom. Predstava prirode, vrta, parka, ovde se načelno uspostavlјa kao simbol savremenog doba i posebno, načina na koji osećamo prazninu i nedostajanje. Prizori nemaju naraciju  i ne sadrže figuru – stvaraju sopstveni biološki komos koji opisuje odsustvo aktivnosti, a gradi je delikatna atmosfera i odabran, plošno primenjen kolorit. U tehnikama na platnu, nižu se kontemplativni prizori – pejzaži, u kojima umetnica likovno preispituje vizuelne simbole, zaokuplјena različitošću formi, boja, tekstura, veza sa okolinom, učitanim značenjima… Služeći se bojom i likovnošću detalјa, postiže poetsku i začaranu dimenziju slike u koju posmatrač nema pristup, namećući osećaj postojanja realnosti izvan civilizacijske buke kojoj pripada – navodi Zorica Atić, istoričarka umetnosti.

Kustos galerije Butter Zhou u uvodnoj reči kataloga izložbe ”PIECES OF LIFE – ODE TO MY FATHER“ ističe:

– Maja’s work is a true reflection on her relationship with the world, also is an expression of many people’s inner fascination with both the city and the jungle. We can clearly feel that she does not give her description directly, but the painting contains full of her personal feeling, which seems to be a morning walk along the street and her perception of the environment.

It is too simple to define Maja’s painting as landscape. Formally, her colours. Her technique and tacit understanding of colour reveals her emotion naturally, the plant in the painting seem to grow in front of our eyes. Light and shadow played a big role in her painting, thus I naively wondered if her eyes had a filter, made from happy with some sadness, floating on the canvas quietly. Her color matching presents the balance of contrast in her work, the rich colour levels gives the audience a path in which the scene is always changing. But putting layers on the of light and shadow created, the plants was dappled with sunlight, like the fresh air after rain, as the fragrance on the earth.  Personally, I particularly like the beam of light she left in the dark part on the canvas, brighten up my future and give me strength to move on.

Many people would take Maja’s painting as illustration. Her painting, do look like graphic print partially, when you look closely, there are many details with small brush strokes, although she uses the soft brush and the gentle force, this detail can still reveal her inner strength. In today’s digital era, our eyes have been occupied by the screen for so long and the world of her painting suddenly becomes real. These patches of colour has nothing to do with the reality and accuracy of the environment, gives her painting a kind of mystique. The structure of the paining is relatively clear and mellow, which increases the affinity of the painting and allows the audience to explore the visual scene—everything has its place. This makes the scene even more confusing.

Does it really exist? The answer is yes, otherwise it wouldn’t be so beautiful.

Maja Zorić

Rođena je  1991. u Čačku, gde završava gimnaziju 2010. godine. Osnovne studije na Fakultetu likovnih umetnosti Univerziteta u Beogradu, smer slikarstvo, završava 2013. godine, a master studije 2015. u klasi redovnog profesora Milete Prodanovića. Stipendista je Fonda za mlade talente u periodu 2012–2015. god., a 2015. je stipendista Salzburg Summer Art Academy. Dobitnica je nagrade na Studentskom bijenalu crteža 2015. godine. Učestvovala je na više grupnih izložbi u zemlјi i inostranstvu (izdvajamo “A Snapshot of Serbia”, UHCL Gallery, Houston, 2014; „Letnji umetnički san /Festival umetnosti“, “Art square“, Šenžen, 2019) i ostvarila četiri samostalne izložbe. Živi i radi na relaciji Republika Srbija – Narodna Republika Kina (Šenžen).

BananaJam Art galery

Prostor umetnosti u Šenženu, NR Kina, stvoren je u maju 2016. godine.

Kroz izložbe, predavanja, radionice i druge aktivnosti, istražuje mogućnosti razmene savremene kineske i zapadne umetnosti. Uspostavlјa umetničke platforme, istražujući nove umetničke snage i razvoj savremene umetnosti u svetu.
